Ajangly if you don't mind I am very curious to know the exact reason behind rotating these prayer wheels in only clockwise direction..why not in an anticlockwise direction if the main motive of rotating these prayer wheels is just to keep our physical body engaged for some noble cause???
Very good question.😍👍 U know the six syllable Mantra placed inside the case is arranged or packed in such a way that when you rotate clockwise, the Om side will move first followed by Hung at the end. If you rotate it anticlockwise , the hung will move first. We are to rotate it and make mantra the way we chant it. We never chant like "Hung padme ma-rni Om". That's why. Now if you ask, why mantras are arranged that way? It is because, generally our master hand is right hand, though some lefties are also there. Therefore, it is more convenient to push it clockwise rather than anticlockwise. U try it, u will realise it. It may also be the reason that right side is always considered more appropriate or should I say auspicious compared to left side. Even swastikas arms too are from left to right. It may also be to distinguish from Bon practices. Because Bonpos make things move in anticlockwise direction opposite to Buddhist. These are my understanding of it. I don't know much ley😊
@ladakhthroughages.6286 Thank you so much ajangly for such a broad and lucid explanation as always. However, I am little confused ajangly because you said that we are supposed to rotate the mantras written inside the cage the way we chant them, if that is the case then why we always move around 'Mani stone walls' in clockwise direction. Since, by revolving around a mani stone wall in clockwise direction the 'Hung' syllable written on the stones will always appear first to the observer followed by 'Padme Marni Om'. I think there must be some other spiritual reasons also apart from those scientific reasons mentioned by you.
@@jigmatdeldan_1071 Very good observation. There could be other reasons too for sure. But I don't have any idea about that ley. Let's try to find out. If I find convincing explanation for it, I will definitely share with you ley. 😊🙏
